Taking People for What They Are, Two Teens Speak

Mike Marr a 16 year old high school junior and Dave Waddell 17 a junior at MHS discuss attitudes toward generations. They say they judge individuals not by age and note some older people can be tougher or more influential, while respect varies by person.

Acting director named for Eastern Iowa Area Crime Commission

Kenneth J. Both of Davenport was named Friday as acting director to replace Sam Padurgal who resigned effective Feb 7. Maynard Fisher of Muscatine appointed Both as acting director pending Feb 11 approval. the commission serves Scott Clinton and Muscatine counties.

Four men in the Montgomery Ward appliance department are awarded $100 each for sales achievement.

License plate sales rise in Muscatine County

Muscatine County auto license sales, led by County Treasurer Frank Killian, show 11 371 plates sold so far this year versus 11 600 for all of 1974. Officials expect a surge before the January 31 deadline when late penalties of 5 percent monthly for autos and 1 percent for mobile homes apply. Licenses available at the Auto Department in Muscatine County Courthouse, open weekdays to 5 p.m.

Farmers Home Administration lowers loan interest rate

The Farmers Home Administration cuts home loan rates from 9% to 8% effective January 21. Eligibility targets low and moderate income families with income caps of 8500 and 12800, seeking rural or small town housing under 20000 population. Local offices in Muscatine and Davenport assist applicants on set days. Muscatine hours are weekdays 8 to 12 and 1 to 5.

Mooseheart Women of the Moose Hold Regular Meeting

The Mooseheart committee of the Women of the Moose met Thursday evening at the Moose home with 11 members present. After social hour, lunch was served by Goldie Sulzberger and Elaine Pagel. February hostesses will be Addie Bird and Lucy McAffee.

Muscatine school board meets Monday at board office

The Muscatine Community school district board of education will hold a meeting at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the board office. High school principal Frank Allen will present a proposal for the new high school's organizational structure, and budget discussions for 1975 76 will occur. An executive session will cover salary negotiations and possible contract terminations. Deeds recorded include Merle D and Gladys A Palmer to Anton M and Marie E Colbrese and Vicki Merideth to Jim Merideth.

All City Grade School Band and Orchestra to Perform

A joint concert by the All City Grade School Band and All City Orchestra is set for Monday at 7:30 p.m. in Muscatine High School Auditorium with ninety three young musicians. The All City Band includes 57 members chosen from 250 fifth and sixth graders. the orchestra has 15 brass woodwind and percussion players and 21 strings. Sue McComas and Paul Riggleman direct the band while Stan Kolkmeier leads the orchestra. No admission charge.
