Jack Hendrick Hoskins, 30, held in county jail awaiting arraignment on murder in the shooting of his estranged wife Carol 22. He was returned from Laredo Texas where arrested January 11 by U S border patrols after his wife was found fatally shot in a Rock Rapids church study following a baptism with their child.

FBI plans interstate transportation of stolen securities charges.
Des Moines reports disclose plans to hire skilled medical specialists for Iowa mental health institutes with salaries up to 21000 dollars a year and possible pay raises for all state mental hospital employees. Dr J O Cromwell, state director, says a general pay increase is under study. The Board of Control notes specialists’ salaries will be in addition to board and room. Dr Hubert Carbone of Los Angeles named clinic head at Cherokee Mental Health Institute at 18300 dollars a year plus maintenance. He was chief of psychiatry at the Veterans Hospital in Sepulveda California and will rank second to Cromwell, who earns 20000 dollars a year plus maintenance.
