Paul Morton head of the Equitable Life Assurance Society and Roosevelt’s secretary of the navy died of cerebral hemorrhage last night at the Hotel Seymour in New York. Born May 22 1857 in Detroit, Morton had risen through the railroad world before serving as secretary of the navy and later president of the Equitable. Funeral services are set for tomorrow afternoon.
