A five day Missouri division meeting in Topeka led by the Missouri division general superintendent reviewed disposing foreign cars to free rail cars for service and plans to manage freight traffic. Attendees included W S Underdonk and many local delegates. the event surprised Mrs Otto.
At the annual meeting of Huttig Manufacturing Company officers for the coming year were elected. The only change is Phillips succeeding Bast as foreman. New officers: President William Huttig, Vice President J R Swearingen, Secretary D G McDermid, Treasurer and Superintendent H W Huttig, Foreman H W Phillips.
A large number of neighbors and friends gathered at Mrs. H. A. Otto's home in Jefferson township last Tuesday to spend the day, sharing time and company.

S. W. Crisman, longtime Muscatine figure and former grocer partner of E. Klepper from 1880 to 1882, died in Kearney Nebraska after several weeks illness. He was about 55, born near Wilton, left Muscatine in 1882 with his family, survived by wife and son C. B. Crisman and a brother who serves as county treasurer at Atlantic Iowa. Funeral services set for Tuesday.
