Triplet Daughters Born to Cochran Family in Muscatine
Mr and Mrs Mike Cochran of Muscatine welcome identical triplet daughters Heidi Jo Holly Ann and Hope Michele at University Hospital Iowa City weighing about 3 1 2 pounds each. The babies in incubators are in good condition. The couple learned of multiples on December 22 after hospital tests revealed twins then confirmed triplets. The event marks Muscatine’s first triplets in 14 years. The couple has another daughter Heather 19 months. Grandparents are Ivan and Helen Cochran and Ronald and Helen Christy. Great grandparents include Helen Cochran Henry Randall Hazel Shew and Harry Christy.

Oakville man falls asleep drives into ditch near Columbus City
An Oakville man, Bill H. Brown aged 19, apparently fell asleep while driving east of Columbus City on a county road Saturday morning. Antique car club installs new officers
The Muscatine Antique Car Club held a family potluck at the Bloomington Grange hall where new officers were installed. Three Muscatine Students Named to Honor Band
Three Muscatine High School students Martha Riley Jeff Lange and Laura Reeves have been selected for the Southeast Iowa Honor Band after auditions in Washington.
