Hospital insurance rates on agenda for trustees

Muscatine General hospital board of trustees will consider a 66 percent increase in malpractice and liability insurance at its 7 p.m. meeting Tuesday. The plan would raise the annual cost to 192 871 dollars for March 1, 1976, to March 1, 1977, with Bellefonte Company providing basic coverage and Guarantee National plus Chicago Insurance Co. backing the secondary policies.

Remains of two Marines flown home from Vietnam

The bodies of Marine Cpls. Charles McMahon Jr. and Darwin L. Judge, the last two U S soldiers killed in Vietnam, were readied for return after release by South Vietnamese authorities. Their coffins arrived at Tan Son Nhut and were transferred to a U S plane for identification at the Central Identification Laboratory.

Two Muscatine residents arrested in shoplifting cases

Two Muscatine residents were arrested Saturday in separate shoplifting incidents. Leslie G. Black, 26, was taken into custody at Bud's Super Valu and released on a $60 bond. Vira Lopes, 28, was arrested at Muscatine Mall for shoplifting from Amy's clothing store.

Man held for break in attempt in Wapello

A 23 year old man from Winfield, Timothy G Wonders, was arrested early Sunday after an alleged attempt to break into a trailer at Woodlawn Trailer Court in Wapello. He fled but was stopped by deputies. bond set at 1000 dollars and he expected in magistrate court today. The sheriff's office also logged a separate Saturday theft at an Oakville residence including tires tools and a rifle. The case remains under investigation.

Break-ins and Theft Reported in Muscatine County

Over the weekend two break-ins and a theft were reported to the Muscatine County Sheriff's department. A mobile home occupied by Steve Anderson was vandalized and stereo equipment with tape recordings valued at 592 dollars stolen, with about 800 dollars in damage. A 16 foot boat and outboard motor owned by Lorne Wheeler were stolen from near a Mississippi River cabin south of Muscatine. Deeds records show transfer actions involving the City of Muscatine properties.
