School board considers sign duties and program review

The board urged McKinley PTO and the principal to ensure daily sign posting at Washington School. Barry Gulliver praised the Washington program but urged conservation of staff. Supt. Downtown Muscatine adopts two hour parking limit ordinance

A new Muscatine downtown parking rule enforces a two hour limit on all street and two hour meters in lots except five hour meters in the 300 block of E Mississippi Drive and half of the ten hour meters. A 50 cent fine applies for overstay plus escalating penalties for each extra hour. The aim is to free spaces for shoppers and curb all day parking.
