New York February 9. Morgan Porcelains once the world's greatest ceramics collection will be sold in pieces by an art dealer group that bought it for 33 999 000. The sale will heighten the Altman collection given to the city by will to become the era's most important exhibit. The Morgan collection began forty years ago with James A Gatland, famed for selecting premier works. Pierpont Morgan acquired the Garland collection in 1893 and expanded it to 1400 pieces. Since then the ceramics have been shown at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.
