A west bound Rock Island freight derailment wrecked the Buffalo Iowa depot killing five year old Midget Croft and injuring her parents. The child died in the debris as steel cars crashed through the bay window.

Mrs. Croft has internal injuries but doctors expect recovery. Mr. Croft is badly bruised with no internal injuries evident.
Wm Hooper Young pleaded guilty to murder in the second degree for killing Mrs Annie Pulitzer. The court sentenced him to life in prison after luring her to his room last September and dismembering the body then disposing of it in a Jersey swamp. He was arrested in Connecticut as clues surfaced. The motive remains unknown.
A bill to strengthen labor capital relations will be introduced in the New York Assembly tonight. It imposes a $2 annual tax per employee on railways iron and salt furnaces electric power firms and telegraph and telephone companies. The fund would pay $2,000 to the next of kin of workers killed in accidents.
