A west bound Rock Island freight derailment wrecked the Buffalo Iowa depot killing five year old Midget Croft and injuring her parents. The child died in the debris as steel cars crashed through the bay window.

Rail depot wreck injures Croft family in Buffalo

The Rock Island agent and his wife Mrs. Croft, aged about 40 and 35, suffer serious injuries after a train wreck at Buffalo. Their 8 year old daughter Mamie was in school and narrowly escaped harm as the depot building and freight cars were driven apart. The station suffered major damage and will need rebuilding. Mrs. Croft has internal injuries but doctors expect recovery. Mr. Croft is badly bruised with no internal injuries evident.

New York Man Pleads Guilty to Second Degree Murder

Wm Hooper Young pleaded guilty to murder in the second degree for killing Mrs Annie Pulitzer. The court sentenced him to life in prison after luring her to his room last September and dismembering the body then disposing of it in a Jersey swamp. He was arrested in Connecticut as clues surfaced. The motive remains unknown.

Bill to Protect Employes In Albany Assembly

A bill to strengthen labor capital relations will be introduced in the New York Assembly tonight.
