Levee Bid For Muscatine Flood Plan Seen Too High
Col Howard Coffman on tour with Congressman-elect Fred Schwengel said the $1,192,400 bid by Hurley Construction of St Paul for a pumping station and south flank levee in drainage district 13 is well above the Corps estimates. Negotiations with the contractor are in process as construction targets flood protection for Muscatine and Louisa counties with completion by late 1968 if an agreement is reached.
