Littlemac car era shaped Muscatine hopes in 1931
The Littlemac, a two model compact car built by Thompson Motor in Muscatine, rolled out twelve units in 1931 amid high local expectations. Priced at 350 dollars for a two passenger coupe and 500 for a truckette, the car weighed 1199 pounds and advertised 55 mph top speed and 35 mpg fuel economy. Reuben Rasmussen led sales, and cars were shown at Chicago and Davenport shows. The project faltered as capital ran out in the low year of 1931.
