A northbound Illinois Central passenger train derailed six miles north of Holly Springs Mississippi after a 25 foot embankment plunge. One passenger, Mrs. James W. Ade of Sidon Mississippi, died at the scene and six were injured. One of the injured is expected to die.
In Munice Indiana on December 22 Clarg and Mildred Beggs aged 7 and 8 children of Mr and Mrs William Beggs living near Royerton were burned to death when a gas stove ignited their tent while the family slept. The parents were seriously injured and may die.
