Let Contract for Automate Signals on Rock Island Frisco Lines
The Rock Island and Frisco systems let a $2,000,000 contract to Union Switch and Signal for electric automatic block and signaling on their lines. The Illinois division between Chicago and Davenport already uses the system. Davenport to Iowa City and Davenport to Muscatine are being upgraded. The order aims to lock in favorable pricing before a deadline. Electric block detects broken rails and shows a train in the block when danger is set.
