Washington Warriors Rout Muskies In Key State Clash

Second rated Cedar Rapids Washington blitzed Muscatine 88 to 65 at the Musfieldhouse. Guard Greg Seyfer led Washington with 20 points and 15 by Williams as they opened a 14-4 run and never trailed. Dan Reed paced Muscatine with 20 points while Kim Ingstad added 14. Reed hit 13 rebounds. Washington improves to 4-0 in conference play. Muscatine drops to 0-2 in league and 1-3 overall.

Muscatine sophs surge to fourth straight win

Muscatine High School sophomores rallied in the final minute to beat Cedar Rapids Washington 40-19. Led by Randy Schuhow 38-37 late, Mike Lofgren sank two free throws with 18 seconds left as Muskie guards closed out the 40-19 victory. Lofgren topped with 10 points, Toussaint 14 for Washington, with Hamsher grabbing eight rebounds. The Muskies improve to 4-0, 2-0 in the league, next face Fairfield then Jefferson Friday.
