Iowa subsoil moisture is at low levels across much of the state, with 85 percent dry. The extent of dryness follows a late killing frost and continued depletion as crops grew. If yields are to rise in 1965, above average or well distributed precipitation is needed, and farmers should consult county extension agents for cropping adjustments.
