The Bloomington Best 4-H Club met at Debbie Wessel's home Monday with 12 members and five visitors attending. Frita Thomas was introduced as a new member. Dad's Night is set for Saturday at Spangler Chapel with a 6:00 p.m. potluck and entertainment. A county officers training session will be held December 19 at the YWCA.
Sweetland Township Homemakers met in the township, discussing safety signs and a Safety Christmas article. Mrs. Sywassink announced a noon meeting, Mrs. Shepard spoke on fire hazards, and officers planned a gathering at her home. Pennies for friendship were collected.
Durant Woman's Club held a Monday evening supper at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church with potluck served at 6 pm for 35 adults and 25 children. Rev Willard R Garred gave a Christmas message. group sang carols and children watched films. Hostesses were Mrs K G Jennett Mrs Robert Smyers Mrs Cleo Canaday and Mrs Rex Deputy. Next meeting slated for Decal on the 4th at 7 30 pm in the American Legion Home with Mrs Fred Bell directing a play Neighbors. Prizes awarded to Mrs Russell Cline and Mrs Robert Brink. Mrs Vearl Connor and Mrs Kenneth TeStrake led recreation and luncheon.
Oakville town council met in regular session with Mayor Raymond Marquardt and four councilmen present. Claims allowed include trash hauling, street lights, fire truck care, supplies, fuel, salaries, and utility services. A permanent street light near the fire station was requested by Iowa Southern Utilities. A class B permit for Chuck's Tap was approved to be issued by Jan 1 1965. 1985 street budget approved. Receipts Nov 2 to Dec 7 show general 7.50 road use tax 24.28. expenses general 166.46 public safety 10.00 sanitation 72.75 utilities 59.75.

Stephanie Cause six year old violinist daughter of Mr and Mrs Bruce Chase Deerfield Illinois will perform on the Ted Mack amateur hour CBS network at 3 40 p m Sunday December 27 Her father formerly of Muscatine is music supervisor for ABC and her mother is active in Chicago musical circles including Union League Artists Showcase and Chicagoland Music Festival Kick Off.
