Urban Renewal plans reshape Muscatine riverfront area
The Muscatine project would clear blocks along Cedar and Mississippi Drive for new commercial space and a city housing site for the elderly, plus off street parking. The plan redraws the riverfront with park facilities and removal of most buildings except Muscatine Power Boat and storage. City shares fund parking, street repairs, and Levee Commission upgrades, with relocation benefits for displaced residents and businesses.
