City Council Stalemate Over Partisan Politics Ordinance

At a December session the council deferred action on the partisan politics ordinance after alderman Hilton pressed for a recommendation. City Attorney Jehring delivered the ordinance to the clerk, but the ordinance committee, led by Arthur Bunn, voted to study it further and postpone any report. The session also touched on beer license limits and potential party labels in city government, with Finnegan and Powell backing a tabling move and Hilton remaining cautious on timing.
