Uptown Waterworks Station Closed. Island Plant Takes Over
Work at the uptown waterworks has stopped and pumping for the city’s water now runs from the new island station. The Worthington engine, finished months ago, has operated reliably for a month with only one delay. The Holly engine is nearly ready but pipe shortages delay its use. If water use spikes, old engines may be required.
