Miss Florence Fuhrmeister lingered between life and death after being shot by her sweetheart William Dohrer in Onawa City Iowa. Doctors report no spinal or brain shock yet and have not probed for the bullet. Relapse remains possible in the next two to three days, but physicians' hopes rise.

Davenport Ia Aug 31 A former Davenport car worker John Behrens traveling with the Boston Bloomer Girls was drowned from the steamer Nellie at Montrose a morning ago. He joined the team about a month ago and was not a regular ball player. Unconfirmed rumor linked him to a team member. No funeral plans yet.
