No Smoking Widely Adopted By Physicians Says Report
A National Interagency Council on Smoking and Health summary of three surveys shows fewer than 30 percent of today’s physicians still smoke cigarettes. NRC data reveal more than one third of doctors who once smoked have quit, while over a third never smoked. Two thirds have smoked at some point, and more than half of current smokers have attempted to quit. The medical profession urges public example, echoed by posters proclaiming that 100,000 doctors have quit smoking.
