New York April 29 Plans for the auxiliary Baldwin Ziegler expedition to northern polar regions have been completed. In Bourbon Indiana on April 29 13 year old Howard Stalley defended his baby brother by shooting a twelve pound seven foot eagle that grabbed the child in the yard. The eagle fell dead atop the infant and the baby escaped with only scratches and a scare.

Ambrose Sin clair of Comstock township in Kalama zoo county hired Attle boro Kendig to prune trees. Sin clair stopped to view the work with his horse beneath the tree when Kendig slipped and fell fifteen feet, striking the horse between the ears and killing it instantly.
