Highlanders From State University To Tour Scotland And Europe
Judy Schafenacker and Mary Hawkins headline 78 member Scottish Highlanders from State University of Towns set for a June 11 to August 11 tour of Scotland England and the Continent. They will perform as a bagpipe and drum band sing and dance visiting London Paris Rome and more then return aboard the Queen Elizabeth. The trip includes performances at the World’s Fair and at various cities including Edinburgh Dunfermline Elgin and Dunbar with student dormitory stays in Paris and Edinburgh.

Explorer Post 127 Scouts Build Towhcraft For Mississippi Voyage
Explorer Scout Post 127 plans an eight day voyage down the Mississippi, starting August 1, with about 22 scouts and four adults aboard a 50 foot craft called Towhcraft. The vessel is built in 10 by16 foot sections and may use two outboard motors or sails. They will ship the craft by barge to Lake Pepin and travel downstream to La Crosse and Dubuque, stopping at points of interest along the way.
