Natural gas plans for Wyoming to Salt Lake Valley
Plans for bringing natural gas from Wyoming into Salt Lake Valley were completed ahead of a hearing before the public utilities commission. Witzpatrick of the Ohio company said locals are anxious to get construction moving and hope to complete some work this winter despite snow and cold. He noted the commission hearing would address the application and noted winter weather could delay some points.

Salt Lake County beet growers profit from watching rivals
Salt Lake County beet growers face a dispute where 16 Sanpete farmers sought to void contracts with Gunnison Sugar Company. They argued rival claims and loss of higher prices, taxes, and local plant idle times. The case highlights county plant dependence and the need for local sugar factories to stay active.

Local sugar factory important to industry in county
The sugar factory operating in our district spends about a quarter of a million dollars annually, employs many local men, pays substantial taxes, and drives county growth. Salt Lake County sugar interests have a record of fair dealing and self interest. Growers should consider waiting for price conditions before signing future crop contracts to ensure fair prices for all.
