The marriage of Miss Laella Middleton and Everett Mines occurred Wednesday evening in the Murray Second Ward Amusement Hall. Bishop T F Greenwood officiated. The bride wore ivory crepe satin and carried a roses bouquet. Bridesmaid Miss Grace Middleton wore blue taffety. Best man was Mr Ted Eskelson. Murray City School Census Shows One Third in School

The school census reports 1582 children aged six to eight in Murray City with 1485 enrolled in local or other districts and 31 attending outside schools. Including eleven high school age enrollments and graduates pursuing further study, nearly one third of the population is in school, underscoring community support for education.

Spencer Boys and Girls Win Utah 4-H Trip Medals

Elwood and Kenneth Spencer of Murray won gold medals for a sheep fitting demonstration as Utah boys, with Susie Jacobs and Margaret Bingham earning honors for the girls. Their teams claimed the Plummer trophy after a Portland contest among five states, with all expenses paid by sponsors.

Death claims Mrs Greeno after 100th birthday year

At noon on Sunday November 11 Mrs Almin Elizabeth Greeno died peacefully two weeks after a 100th birthday celebration in Murray City. Born October 25 1928 in Ogdensburg New York she is survived by daughter Lucy Cox. Funeral services were held November 13 in the Murray First Ward chapel and burial followed in Murray City Cemetery.

Services for Patriarch James Godfrey Held in South Cottonwood Ward

Funeral services for Patrick James Godfrey of the South Cottonwood Ward were conducted Wednesday November 7 at 1 pm in the Ward chapel. Bishop Amos Turner led the service with speakers John T. Barrett Lily Schimer and Apostle Joseph Fielding Smith. The program featured solos and a violin piece as notes paid tribute to Godfrey’s thirteen years as ward bishop and his role as a community builder.

Minstrel show planned by Murray ward M Men

In Murray First Ward Recreation Hall on December 4 the M Men plan a minstrel show featuring Black performers and local musicians led by W. F. Robinson. Aimed at broad turnout, tickets are 25 cents for adults and 10 cents for children, with offers of a lively night hosted by the community group.

Murray Lions Club Drives Canning Factory Rebuild
