The annual U of U High School Day will be held Friday May 13 1027. The senior class of Murray High School will be excused from class work to attend.
Commencement exercises take place Thursday evening May 19 1927 at 8 00 p.m. in the Murray First Ward chapel. Adam Benion will address the graduates and Helen Asplund is valedictorian. Graduates listed include Dale Linnell Margaret Short Mary Nelson Harold Christensen Tay Anderson Bernard White Richmund Thomas Alfred Davis Lawrence Jones Arllda Wright Praoklin Jones Clive Tennison Charles Wilson Mae Simper Verdette Reading Mary Tilati Wilma Jordan Edith Reed Frank Snow Gwen Binion and others.
An annual award assembly took place at MM. I. 8 on Thursday May 12 presenting honors to students and staff.
Murray and three other Utah high schools will compete for state championship honors in a debate at the University of Utah on Friday May 18 1927. Murray High School yearbook will be on campus Thursday May 19 1927. Subscriptions are urged as only a limited number of copies will be printed and may run out.
On Monday evening May 16 1927 the M I S faculty will entertain at 9 o’clock at the Chanticleer for the graduating class of 1925 27. The event marks close ties between faculty and students.
Mr and Mrs Wm B Brekson host a Sunday dinner for Reuben Flynn and Colin Davis recently arrived from Australia. Guests Mr Plein and Mr Davis originate from Perth Averrilin and are friends of the hosts. Zelph Prek’s son serves in the missionary field there.
A trout dinner was served to guests Misses den nie Weriektrene LaVen Taone Evelyn Olon Mesara sevaiwur Young Reuben Flynn and Colla Dayts at the event.
The Murray Woman's Club held its annual dinner in the Murray Methodist church rooms on a Thursday evening. President Mya A McMulin spoke briefly and toasts were offered by Mrs Dr Thottiwell and Mrs J A Martin. Mrs Rothwell spoke on Youth with Mrs Wright replying, and Mrs Martin discussed The Home. A roe solo by Miss Lind and a duet by Misses Savon and Tren Toone were enjoyed. Spring roses decorated the rooms and table. A short business session followed the program.
A.M. Howard of 710 South 6th East Street won the Baltic Broom draw held after the Smith Hardware window display attracted hundreds. County Fire Department sponsored an old-fashioned dance at Caton’s amusement hall last Saturday, with a lively tossle orchestra and about 120 people in attendance.
Wr and Myre A W Francia of Morris with Karl and Vina Dean of Anmrleai Fork visited Pangnitch for a visit with Mr Frivels parents W J Peters. Adele Francis stays with her parents for six months while the group hosted dinner for numerous relatives including Mr and Mrs Frank RHey and others from Gorflehl Meggil Salt Lake Farmington Garfiedd and Signy Hise.
Adbertne Willardsan, president of the Utah Poultry Producers Co operative Association, says Cub production will reach one million spring chickens this year, a 25 percent rise from last year and a new state record. Birds become available soon and most will be shipped west. nine rest in the state. Prices are lower than last year per Willawsen.
George A. Scott, statistician for Utah, reports a condition noting changes into May with partial figures, comparing the current rate to prior months. The data show shifts in normal levels and a portion of the population affected, reflecting regional health trends.
Richard Winder, president of Murray Sheep, announced the sale of 16 000 fence posts and 194 ton wool fin for 3 550 pounds, per an ant winded report at the Utah State We Association.
