Madsens to Build Splendid Modern Store in Mac y Area

Madsens, longtime leaders in Mac y business, plan a complete remodeling to create a modern store with the largest show windows and extensive floor space outside Salt Lake. The south building is being renovated with steam heat, new walls, fixtures, and plate glass across the front and a 60 foot rear extension. The two buildings will connect with archways and feature two-story display windows. The move aims to maintain their high furniture standards and transfer the stock after completion.

Murray High Orchestra Recital Promises Youthful Talent

Murray High School presents the third annual orchestra recital Monday evening January 28 at 5 PM in Murray First Ward National Hall. The program features 8 first violins, 9 second violins, 4 first cellos, winds and brass including clarinets saxophones trombones tubas and a chorus of pianists and drama. Tickets are 2 cents to help fund a new large a-raphone as the school invites all to hear the boys and girls perform works by Laurendeau Dvorak Weber Ponchielli and others.

Jordan High presents one act operetta Way Down South in Dixie

Southern melodies and Negro folk songs were performed last Friday in a Jordan High School assembly by Popple under Emery G. Epperson and Mie Van John Stone in the one act operetta Way Down South in Dixie. The program featured Stephen Foster songs and served to commemorate the birthday of Robert P. Lew on Saturday.
