Bridge and street upgrades by city official noted in town

Wew Bridges and J. W. Blackard, acting street commissioner since S. A. Goodman resigned, have been installing crossings and bridges. Funds were scarce, causing neglect, but trustees promise taxes will sustain repairs. The town is urged to adopt the Split-Log Road Drag to keep roads in good condition, as used in older states.

To Organize Lodge in Muldrow by L White

L. White of Stigler arrived in Muldrow to organize a lodge of the Brotherhood of American Yeomen. The fraternal order is described as a benefit and fraternal organization. White says he already has enough members to order a charter and will return home tonight. He appointed E. B. Rinker as local deputy for this county.

Child Burned by Hot Candy Incident

Fifteen month old Cloe Watts daughter of Mr and Mrs George Watts burned her face and hands after touching hot candy and rubbing it on her chin and mouth. She suffered intensely for several hours Wednesday in the family home.

Wyckliffes Not Guilty In Cherokee Territory Murder Trial

Wyckliffe brothers found not guilty of Deputy Marshal Gilstrap’s murder by Judge Pitchford in Tahlequah. Demurrers argued the evidence failed to ID the defendants. jury directed to verdict of acquittal. Full-blood Cherokee defendants, sons of former Cherokee supreme court justice John Wyckliffe, had endured a long manhunt with federal deputies. After statehood one brother was killed. the other surrendered to sheriffs for a fair trial.

Man from Borneo at Muldrow is a home talent hit

The Muldrow Comedy Company presented The Man from Borneo last Saturday night. The all local cast practiced a month and the performance pleased the audience. The Muldrow Orchestra contributed with special arrangements. Receipts totaled 24 dollars with net proceeds of 16 dollars.
