Posse Battles Outlaws in Porum Shootout
A masked posse led by Pony Starr and Joe Davis attacked Starr and Davis’s home in Porum Oklahoma, wounding several including E A Maxwell and Clifford Hester. Starr and Davis escaped after a fierce hour long battle that left multiple dead or gravely injured and Mrs Starr firing back during the danger. The incident follows a writ of replevin over cattle and involved Deputy Constable Dobson and armed men in disguises.
