A 1977 Pinto station wagon stolen from Benton was found in Mt. Vernon on Tuesday. Deputies learned it had been abandoned for days on the Capps and Warren Service lot, after being taken from Taylor Motors in Benton. Taylor Motors employees were summoned to retrieve the car.

Vandals damaged outdoor pole lamps at three homes and a business around 10 p.m. Tuesday. Lowell Simmons reported damage to a wrought iron lamp post at 1710 Pace Ave. A Biagi's Electronics area resident said a carload suspect broke a night light and fled. Jim Waugh reported a pole lamp broken at 3305 Blackberry St by youths with a baseball bat, who then left in a car. Neighbor James Thor mahien also said his pole lamp on Blackberry St was broken.
