He died Thursday in Wichita Kansas where he was a resident. He was born January 4 1925 in Mills Shoals, the son of Charles and Emma White Oakley. He is survived by his mother in Mt Vernon, his wife Grace, two daughters Gwen Oakley of Wichita and Billie Joyce Gibson of Tupelo, three brothers Charles of Houston Elmer of Wichita and Paul of St Louis, four sisters Ruth M Walker of Mt Vernon Bonnie Bufkin of Miami Madge Owen of Kansas City and Evelyn Caussey of East St Louis.

Three Accidents Reported In Mt Vernon Last Night
Three major damage accidents were reported to Mt Vernon police last night including two hit-and-run incidents. A parked car owned by Elm etta Marlow was damaged in the 400 block of Broadway. A different hit-and-run damaged a car in the 700 block of South Tenth Street. A collision on 11th and Broadway involved Jerry Blue and Anita M Trammell with both cars damaged. Trammell charged with failure to yield right of way.
