John Luther Davenport longtime Jefferson county resident died at 9:30 p m Tuesday at his son Ted Davenport’s home in Belle Rive at age 81 years eight months and one day. Funeral at Belle Rive Baptist church Friday at 2 p m with Rev Bird Green officiating. Burial in Opdyke cemetery. He married Flora Wood in 1890. Survived by sons Albert Ted Claud and a daughter AlmaNordstrom, plus 22 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by one son and three daughters.
