Mann P T A Opens Year With Music Program
The Horace Mann P T A met Thursday night at 7:30 in the school auditorium with president Mrs Geraldine Carpenter welcoming members and urging fathers to attend future five evening meetings. Principal Charles Inskeep introduced music directors Harry Dunham and Larry Kaney and their orchestra. A saxophone solo by Sharon Borah accompanied by Mrs Paul Boston followed. Erma Chambliss Dies at Age 48
Mrs Irma Tish Chambliss of 304 North Fourth Street died at 8 30 am today at Good Samaritan Hospital after a two week illness. She was 48 years seven months and 20 days old. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 pm at Myers Chapel with the Rev Everett Apgar officiating burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. She was born February 6 1901 in Fayette county IL the daughter of C R and Nancy Paradee Tish. On September 1 1928 she married Edward Chambliss who survives along with her father C R Tish a brother Velda Tish of Dix and a sister Beulah Haley of Collinsville IL.
