Mrs Myrtle D Patton aged 85 of Dix died yesterday at Good Samaritan Hospital Mt Vernon. Funeral service set for Sunday 2 pm at Dix Methodist Church with ministers from Mt Vernon and Lincoln officiating. Burial Antioch cemetery. Call Osborn Funeral Home Dix after 4 pm Saturday. She joined Dix Methodist in girlhood and was born June 7 1880 Texico daughter of James Calvin and Sarah Williams. Widower Perry Frank Patton died March 17 1951. She was one of eight children, all predeceased, survived by nieces and nephews.
Frank Schrader 87 of T21 Salem Road died yesterday at home. Retired farmer, he will be buried Saturday at Bethel Memorial cemetery after funeral at Myers Chapel at 2 pm conducted by Delbert Sinks. Calling after 12 pm today. Born April 29 1878 in Earlville Ia to Wilhelm and Mrs Schrader. Survived by daughters Doris Schrader Iris Simmons two sisters and five grandchildren and four great grandchildren. A son Raphael and stepson H Ward Keeler preceded him.
Mrs. Sophie Leona Trader, 62, died at 5 30 p.m. Thursday at her home on RFD 1 Scheller after an apparent heart attack. Funeral services are set for 11 00 a.m. Saturday at St Marys Catholic Church Ses ser with Rev Peter Hsu officiating. Burial will follow in St Barbara cemetery Scheller. The body lies in state at Brayfield Funeral Home Lesser after 5 p.m. today. Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. at the funeral home. She was born February 14 1903 in Scheller, daughter of Alfonse and Catherine Van Hoorebeke. Survived by husband Gus Trader and four brothers and four sisters. She was a member of St Marys Altar Society.

Ralph Stinnett an 18 year old Negro high school football star from South High School died after a knife wound to the heart as he tried to break up a street fight near the school. A 17 year old suspect was arrested and jailed. police said no racial overtones were evident.
Mrs. Ann Karcher, 52, of McLeansboro route 3, was injured in a car train collision at the Delafield curve crossing northwest of McLeansboro on Thursday. She was first treated at a local doctor’s office and then transported to Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Mt. Vernon.
