AP photographer Henri Huet was wounded by shrapnel in the right hand and right leg during a Communist shelling of Con Thien near the DMZ. One marine was killed and another wounded nearby. Huet was flown to Da Nang Navy hospital, underwent surgery, and was reported in satisfactory condition. Doctors removed shrapnel from his lower right leg, with a slight fracture expected to limit movement for four to five weeks.
