Deaths Arthur Clark Dies At Age 80 Rites Monday
Arthur Clark aged 80 died in his sleep at his home on OL Herbert Street. A retired Moss Tie Company employee, he will be laid to rest Monday at 2:00 p.m. at Calvary Apostolic Church with burial in Bethel Memorial Cemetery. He was born February 4, 1882 in Hamilton County and married Grace Riley on March 20, 1904. Surviving are three daughters Verna Clark Madge Wilkerson and Madeline Moore all of Mt. Vernon, two brothers Irvin and John Clark of Macedonia, and one granddaughter. His wife, a son killed in World War II, and a granddaughter preceded him in death.

The Benton Livestock Association and University of Illinois Extension report 2,558 feeder pigs sold on September 13 at Benton Sale Pavilion, weighing 30 to 141 pounds with an average 67 pounds and $19.31 per head. Eighty four farmers consignors earned $49,588 for hog producers in Franklin Jefferson and nearby counties. Fiery Deaths In Four-Truck Crash Near Atwood
Two drivers died in a fiery highway crash involving four trucks on U S 36 four miles west of Atwood Indiana. Paul Miller, 30, of Columbus rolled east in a hog truck and collided with westbound trucks driven by Gale Bownan of Waynesville. Both Miller and Bownan were killed as the vehicles burst into flames. Firefighters used 4,000 gallons of water to prevent spread. some hogs were killed, others fled. The other drivers were uninjured. The incident occurred around 3 to 4 a.m. local time.
