Ross Partridge. burial Wells Chapel cemetery. Calling 5 p.m. Saturday at Myers Chapel Mt. Vernon. body moved to church noon Sunday. Donations preferred to American Cancer Society. Survived by two sons Glen and Gleason of Mt. Vernon a daughter Lois Boyle a brother Emmit Wilson two sisters Jewel Heinzman and Maud Reid five grandchildren and one great grandchild. Preceded in death by husband Jesse G. Clark a son and four brothers.

Roy Fraser 84 of Route 1 Texico died at his home at 10 40 p m Thursday. He was a retired farmer. Burial in Donoho Prairie Christian Church cemetery with Rev Grant Hawkins officiating. Friends may call Osborn Funeral Home Dix after 6 p m Saturday. He was born December 15 1888 in Salem son of Henry and Flora Fraser. Married May 1 1929 in Salem to Bessie Simmons who survives. World War I veteran and member of American Legion Veterans of World War I and Donoha Prairie Christian Church. Survived by wife one son Chester R of DeKalb and four grandchildren. Preceded in death by one sister Bersie Reed.

Sparta Illinois Randolph County Taxpayers Federation chair man says an attorney has been hired to seek a circuit court investigation of the Chester courthouse financing. Richard Sterling of Belleville will ask for a special state’s attorney to handle the probe. The group questions the sale of 2 million in revenue bonds without bid advertising. Franklin Co Escapees Caught in Mt Vernon
Two juveniles from Franklin county who escaped custody were captured in Mt Vernon after fleeing in a stolen 1972 Pinto. A 14-year-old Mulkeytown youth and a 15-year-old from Chicago Heights were held for county authorities. They fled an unlocked room, escaped through a coal chute, and were later apprehended on S 10th Street and Grand Avenue. The car was recovered undamaged and returned to Richard O Keefe of Benton.

Burglars Target Home Beverage Store For Wine Take

Consumer prices rise sharply in August 1973 report
Prices jumped 7.5 percent over the year and 6 months, pushing the CPI to 135.1. Meats poultry and fish surged 16.6 percent from July and 40.7 percent year over year. Nonfood items rose with apparel, houses, maintenance and fuel oil, while declines in car prices moderated the effect. Real earnings fell 1.9 percent in August, with weekly earnings down 0.6 percent from August 1972. Spendable earnings also down 1.9 percent, 2.1 percent since August 1972.
