A two car accident at Dahlgren yesterday afternoon caused heavy damage but no injuries. Miss Margaret Judd of Dahlgren drove a 1947 Chevrolet east on Route 460 and began turning off when the Auot Miller car sideswiped. Mrs. Laura Thompson, Judd's mother, was a passenger. Miller of Centralia drove a 1948 Studebaker westbound.

William Oscar McCann died suddenly from a heart attack at 9:00 this morning at his Benton Road home. A farmer, the Jefferson county native was 73 years old and survived by his brother Emory B. McCann. Funeral at New Hope church near Spring Garden Thursday at 10 a.m. Burial in New Hope cemetery. Body viewable at Pulley Funeral Home starting 10 a.m. Wednesday.

Gasoline Truck Hit by Train at Pottsville
A Reading Railroad passenger train crashed into a gasoline truck in Pottsville Pennsylvania today causing a large explosion. The driver Clarence Goetz twenty two of Gap Pennsylvania was killed and the train’s engineer burned. The blast ignited fires at a nearby warehouse and machine shop drawing all available fire units to the scene. The truck carried four thousand five hundred gallons of rascaline.

Hollywood mourns Richard Dix listed as a 54 year old star of silent and sound films. He died of a heart ailment after collapsing en route from New York to Chicago on Aug. 19 and being flown to Hollywood, with a decline in health in the days before his death.
