Funeral services for John W Casada are set for 1:30 p m Sunday at Myers Chapel with Rev Glendal Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Casada 59 formerly of Mt Vernon died Wednesday in Chicago. He will lie in state at Myers Chapel after 4 p m today. Born January 10 1905 in Franklin County he was the son of John W Casada and Ollie Huffine Casada. He married Jessie Byars and survives with two sisters Amanda Ross and Lottie McGehee of Mt Vernon, a brother Carroll Casada of Mt Vernon, and half brother Omar Dare of Mt Vernon.

Jefferson County Soil and Water Conservation District will lead its annual businessmen's twilight tour next Wednesday afternoon Sept. 23. The 4:00 p.m. departure from Farm Bureau parking lot will cover a drive tour of the James Lacey orchards and hunting preserve near Woodlawn, with refreshments served afterward.
