Mt Vernon Transit Lines announces a route change effective this Wednesday. The First Street bus will follow a new path from the square to Second and Opdyke then north on Second to Main, west to Fourth, north to North, west to Ninth, and south to the public square, replacing the current Opdyke to Fourth route at the request of Alderman Wayne Newton.

Boy 3 Suffers Fractured Skull In Car Fall
Three year old Louie Allan Beck, son of Dewey M. and Mrs. Beck of RFD 4, sustained a skull fracture in a fall from a moving car on Spring Garden Road near his home Saturday night. He is in Jefferson County Memorial Hospital and recovering but must be kept quiet for several days.
