The body of Howard Bixler, 19, from Minerva Ohio, stationed at the Army Nike Missile Center at Hecker, was found in the Kaskaskia River. Police say he and Jerry Buck, 18, were riding together when their car hit a bridge on State 13 Wednesday night. Buck was injured and taken to Scott Air Force Base Hospital. Buck may have been with Bixler when the crash occurred. authorities recovered Bixler's body Thursday after a search.
