Dynamiting At 3 Farm Homes in Rushville Indiana

Schumer County sheriff guards the county after three farmhouses were dynamited Monday night. Eight to ten sticks of dynamite exploded about 25 feet from each front porch, shattering windows but injuring no one. Livestock were released and herded into crop fields on several farms. Deputies said the National Farmers Organization member status was not proven and no suspects tied to the group.

Estimated Wednesday receipts show hogs 7500, cattle 3000, calves 230, sheep 600. Hogs down to 15 points, barrows and gilts 16.75 to 17.50, sows 13.75 to 15.85. Mt Vernon police investigated a house break-in and theft yesterday. Mildred Biggs of Jacksonville Illinois reported an electric shaver worth about 18 dollars stolen from her room at the Lawrence Motel. Leonard Carnahan reported a break-in at an unoccupied house at 1021 Perkins Avenue owned by his aunt Dora Carnahan, with most valuables already removed and little stolen.
