Benton Attorney William W. Hart Dies at 74
William W. Hart, 74, Benton attorney and long time partner in Hart and Hart, died Friday night at Franklin Hospital after a lengthy illness. A World War I veteran and former U.S. district attorney, he served in multiple public roles including at the Illinois Commerce Commission and as U.S. commissioner. Survived by wife Helen Tomlinson and son William Jr., services at First Christian Church Benton Sunday at 2 p.m. Burial in Masonic and Odd Fellows cemetery. Body lies in state after 4 p.m. today at Mitchell Funeral Home.
