Deaths Harold E. Roney Rites At Bluford

Funeral services for Harold E. Roney 57 are set for Sunday at 2 p m at Bluford Funeral Home with Rev. Roy VanHorn officiating. Burial will be in Atkinson cemetery near Camp Ground. Viewing is after 4 p m today. Roney died Thursday at the Colonial Hotel. Born September 24 1905 in Jefferson County he was a farmer at Earlsville Tl. He is survived by two brothers Rev. Guy Roney of Opdyke and Orville Roney of Mt. Vernon. He was preceded by his parents and four sisters.

Robert Winfield McClain, 56, of Ashley, died Friday at Washington County Hospital in Nashville. Funeral Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Hogan Funeral Home in Ashley with burial at Ho gan cemetery. He was born February 21, 1907 in Beaucoup township, married Bessie Vaughn in 1932, and survived by his wife, two foster daughters Cynthia Thomas of Ashley and Glendore Adkins of Waltonville, plus a Pentecostal church member.

Dahlgren State Trooper Adron Cross of Wyoming Illinois, a Dahlgren native, received the American Red Cross's highest individual honor for reviving three month old Cynthia Roark last June. He used mouth to mouth resuscitation twice while en route to Proctor Hospital in Peoria, checking the infant during the drive. The Roark family praised his courtesy and promptness, and Cross, 30, has served five years in the Illinois state police and is the 149th recipient in Illinois since 1913.

Youth Killed Four Injured in Roodhouse Crash

In Roodhouse Illinois a youth was killed and four companions critically injured when their car left a country road and overturned after returning from a Palmyra high school football game.
