Death of Cecil T. Owens at Walnut Hill
Cecil T. Owens 68 of Walnut Hill died at home shortly after midnight. A former carman helper for Illinois Central, he retired in 1968. Services 2 p.m. Friday at Boyd Christian Church with burial in Boyd Cemetery. He lies in state at Queen Boggs Funeral Home after 5 p.m. Thursday. Born February 5, 1904 in Shelby County, he lived in Walnut Hill since 1905. Survived by wife Fern Stonecipher Owens, two sons Orville and Harold, two daughters Wilma Braddy and Dorothy Jean Wegmann, a brother Anthony R., seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
