Two accidents occurred on Mt Vernon streets Friday per police reports. Vehicles driven by Harry A Walter and James Wittier collided in the 400 block of North Tenth street with no injuries. A three car collision on Main near Twelfth involved Everett Savage Charles Sharp and a parked car owned by Billy Page. Sharp sustained a slight injury.

Rutland Vermont September 9. Elmer an eight and a half foot python escaped from a card board box yesterday. His owner Zorita a strip actress says the snake loves people and is like a little boy. A damage suit over a March 11 highway collision was filed in circuit court naming George N. Plaintiffs seek 230.52 in damages for Anselment's car.

Car Turned Over Injuring One Passenger Near Mt Vernon

Retiring East Side Baptist pastor served 18 years
The Rev. Bird Green, longtime Mt. Vernon minister, retires after 18 years as pastor of East Side Baptist Church. In Joliet Illinois two children died in a car truck crash early today. Ricky Taylor three months old and Ronald three from St Louis were among five hurt including their parents Milo 24 and Margaret 23 and another man. The collision occurred on highway 66 at Route 113 south of Joliet. All survivors were reported in serious condition at St Joseph's Hospital.
