Death of William H. Clemens at 88 in Jefferson County
William H. Clemens of 404 Avenue died at 10 last night in Lowry’s Nursing Home at age 88 years six months and three days. A retired farmer, he had been ill two years. Funeral Sunday at 3 p.m. East Hickory Hill Church with Rev. Bird Green. burial in church cemetery. Body lies in state at Pulley Funeral Home after 2 p.m. today. Surviving: three sons J D of Mt Vernon Gale of Beach Grove Indiana and Charles of Lavada Iowa. three daughters Hallie Britton Ruth Sheen and Jennie Linder. 15 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by three sons one daughter one brother and two sisters.

A seven month old Hampshire pig from Coxs Creek near Louisville behaves like a dog. Elmer drinks milk from a baby bottle, eats vanilla wafers from his owner Miss Alberta Satterly, and plays with 16 German Shepherds. He follows Alberta and was nursed by her after hish mother failed to care for him.

Man Tied To Boat Mast In Lake Huron Tragedy
Marvin Mallis 29 of West Bloomfield Township survived after being found tied to a sailboat mast in Lake Huron. He said two companions, Dr. Donald N. Aiken and Richard Gardner, both of Bloomfield Township, were blown overboard and believed drowned after a Labor Day outing. The boat was discovered by the freighter Princeton’s wheelsman Nolan May. rescue crews arrived to find Mallis aboard the vessel with the craft on its side.

A 32 caliber pistol wielding robber entered the Whiteman Air Force Base bank, forced Teller Alberta Hall and cashier Oscar Wolfrum to lie in the vault, then fled with 12229 dollars. Two Die At Pana Railroad Crossing Crash
Two people were killed and a third seriously injured Friday night when a New York Central locomotive struck a stalled auto at a crossing in Pana Ik. Victims were Charles Davis 29 Tower Hill and Miss Eula Neece 16 of Pana Daviss wife Iva 40 suffered critical injuries.
