She was born October 29 1885 to William H and Nancy Hess. Survived by two sons Kermit Bourbonnais and Carl Benton five daughters Faye Tucker Ravenna Ohio Ferne Upchurch Zecaring Town Ruth Parkhill Benton Lena Ezell Mt Vernon Opal Rhine Mt Vernon and a sister Ethel Phron Kankakee. She was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Funeral services for Jerry Hays 76 of Waterman Illinois will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday at Shabbona Baptist Church in Shabbona. The body is in state at Thorsen Funeral Home. Hays a former Jefferson county resident died Tuesday morning of a heart attack. He was a member of Shabbona Baptist Church. Born in Jefferson County he was the son of Joseph and Virginia Hays. He married Kola Kelly on October 4 1914 who survives. The record notes a son Melvin Hays of Rockford two daughters Verlette Larson of Waterman and June of California two brothers Archie Hays of Mt. TEL AVIV AP The Israeli navy is examining two Egyptian fishing boats seized in Israeli waters six days earlier. The boats entered near the Sinai area on August 29 and were escorted to an Israeli port. A separate clash in the North Beisan Valley saw Jordanian forces fire first with light arms, followed by a 50 minute exchange. a later 10 minute exchange caused no Israeli casualties.

MIT Edged Caltech In Electric Car Race Across Nation
The Great Electric Car Race ended at 7:46 am with MITs maroon and white Microbus crossing Caltech’s campus in Cambridge after a 3300 mile cross country route. Caltechs Veltswagen finished earlier in Pasadena at 6:27 pm EDT Monday. Race rules tallied penalties for towing and equipment changes. Caltech led by 12 hours when penalties counted, MIT claimed the victory by elapsed time. MIT team was led by Len Loch from Corpus Christi, Texas, with teammates Ronald Gremban and George Swartz. One Person Sentenced In Circuit Court
One person was sentenced and three others placed on probation in circuit court yesterday. James Davenport, 22, pleaded guilty to burglary of a divide general and grocery store and received two years probation with eight months in Vanldalia. Jesse Ross, 38, pleaded guilty to deceptive practices and was sentenced to 0 days in county jail. Lyle Hodge, 18, pleaded guilty to auto theft and got two years probation.
