Funeral services for Roy Barker, former Mt. Vernon resident, will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. in the Pulley Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. Ace Summers officiating. Burial follows at Memorial Gardens. Friends may call after 10 a.m. Saturday. Barker, 46, died Thursday morning in Chicago. He was born June 6, 1909 in Broughton, Illinois, son of Riley and Maymie Barker, and worked at Rheem Mfg. Co. He was a member of the Church of God. Survived by his parents, a son Billy Richard Barker, a daughter Dorothy Sue Barker, two grandchildren, three brothers Lawrence, Herman, Donald, and two sisters Evelyne Strickland and Mrs. Harry Decker, all of Mt. Vernon.

Vernon 36 years, was married to Cyndia Oglesby (deceased), and is survived by two daughters Ora Kittinger of Mt. Vernon and Ysa Bell Marlow of El Paso, Texas, plus two grandchildren. Funeral arrangements were incomplete, body to Myers Chapel.
