Theft of a green 1960 two door Chevrolet sedan, owned by Grover C. Duncan of Mt. Vernon, reported to the sheriff's office Monday afternoon. The vehicle description was broadcast over the state police radio system.
Merle Williamson county tables control officer said he has received numerous complaints about dogs running loose in the Summersville school area east of Mt. Vernon He warned owners that if the dogs are not kept up they will be impounded.
Bob Sledge reported to the sheriff's office a break in at his Route 5 Mt. Vernon home. Thieves cut a screen and broke a door glass to enter, stealing an electric razor and leaving cigarette butts, trash, and a gas stove left on.

At 8:10 p.m. two cars collided on South Tenth Street after stopping for a train, with Disroe, Hubbard, and Bocchiardi involved. damages totaled over $150 for Hubbard, about $50 for Bocchiardi, and over $100 for Disroe, who faced following too close charges. A separate 11:35 a.m. accident at Tenth and Harrison left Phillips and Pinnell with about $50 damage. Phillips was charged with careless driving.
